Literature Text

The fire that burns in thy chest be hotter than the sun,
Burns warmer than the hottest flame,
Burn on, and on till' the day be done,
And put the sun to shame.
Your heart be purer than the sky on the clearest day,
No sin to ever be purged,
Thy lips be softer than the gods', I say,
Love personified and emerged.
However, like life the sun must set,
And usher in a tomorrow,
Alas, tomorrow be a new day we get,
To love, and fight each others' sorrow.
So burn on, my deity, my flame,
As I watch you put the sun to shame.
Yet another sonnet. God, I love writing these. Totally helpful that I have to practice my iambic pentameter for a role in A Midsummer Night's dream. I'd like to thank my beautiful girlfriend for being an on going inspiration to these. I guess she can consider this an early Christmas gift. I'm sure there will be more before then though!
Anyways, enjoy.
